CH. SHILOH’S STAR SPANGLED DREAMIN’

“It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.”

“Ban Man” or “BB” as he was affectionately called, was our first show dog and boy did he love to show! Banner had a nice side gait and we always enjoy watching him move. After he finished his championship, Banner retired from the show ring and was neutered. He enjoyed being a home body. We are sad that he could not enjoy the show ring in veteran sweeps.

At home Banner was the best babysitter to all puppies — he had such patience! He loved to teach Nolan how to play chase and allowed Nolan to play until Nolan, not Banner, was ready to give up.

We lost Banner in mid December 2006 to renal failure caused by reflex dyssenergia. He had such a quiet presence about him that is so loudly missing now in our home.

Banner was a show dog, a therapy dog, a member of our family who we miss dearly. He gave us so much, taught us so much, and for that we are so thankful to have had him in our lives. One day we’ll meet again. Rest easy and comfortably now special boy…
