Michael won a raffle back at our National Specialty last fall that included a free Cuddle Clone. We chose the king (Fin) to be our test on this. Here’s the final product and we laughed so much at the two of them together. Pretty cute!

It may be April Fools day but this is no joke! We are pleased to share with you M&M’s newest litter. Congratulations to Bunny (GCH McGuires Queen of the Hop) and Willie (Sherick’s Sweet WM The Great) on their new brood of 8. They were born last night – 3/31/19. Mommy and babies are doing so very well!
This breeding was a collective effort – from 15yr old frozen semen (frozen by Infinity Canine in Sanford, NC) and bred via TCI by Block Sporthounds …. it is SO surreal and special to be looking at a litter sired by one of our very first Bloodhounds who died 6yrs ago. Willie lived just shy of 14 years old. He’s had a beautiful litter from his frozen in Michigan before but we have never had the right bitch to take to him until now. We are so happy and again amazed by frozen semen, technology and the 8 little blessings among us! This pedigree brings some very beautiful and special old dogs forward and lets them live on again!
We have 5 boys, 3 girls – color breakdown is as follows … 3 blk/tan boys, 1 red boy, 1 liver red boy, 1 blk/tan girl, 2 red girls.
Thank you for letting us share in our most special excitement. A very special thank you to Michael for all of your help today and to Melissa for the same!
Please visit the ‘Litters’ page on this site for reaching us in regards to these puppies. Thank you!
Anyone with an old Bloodhound can certainly relate with this. Today was a day that I was unsure would come. Old Bloodhounds sadly are not very common as their average lifespan is 8-9yrs. It truly is a blessing to have an old one in your life. This guy, *my most very special boy to me,* has had his ups and downs battling arthritis and the effects of long term prednisone usage, which provides him quality life, but today was a big day! Happy, HAPPY 11th Birthday to my Fin who we love so dearly! He’s had a great and busy day. He started the day with a couple of bites of bday canned food treat and the traditional bday bandanna adorned. We went to GrandMary’s (my mom) where lunch chicken pot pie bites were shared and enjoyed with Mom, Tom and our adorable niece Peyton who was anticipating his bday visit. She helped to sing Happy Birthday to him as we shared mini cupcakes that Mom got for him. Then tonight we enjoyed the traditional McDonald’s Birthday cheeseburgers for all the dogs at home. Even the drive thru girl wished him a happy day! What an extra special day for one extra special boy. He’s now completely exhausted just like an old man and probably two pounds heavier but who cares when you have a day like today to celebrate?!
We had a great time going to a training day in Columbia, SC hosted by Melissa Byrd. Photos, taken by her, are of Michael and Visa practicing in all urban areas with a trail that was over 24 hours old.
We had a fun puppy playtime with a couple of the neighbors and their kids come to play this afternoon!
Puppies are a LOT of work but they are so rewarding. These pictures say it all without saying a thing. It’ll be hard to see these guys go to their new homes and we will miss them! Photo credits to Michelle Ashpole – thank you!
After close to three years, our whelping box is full of love again! We had two breedings planned for 2018. One was to be mid summer and the other in the fall. Turns out both of the girls waited to cycle together. After much thought process, and decisions best for them not to skip their cycle, we planned and prepared for two litters. On 9/16 we welcomed (overnight while Hurricane Florence was blowing through!) 12 new liver/tan puppies from Grace & Merlin (Australian imported semen) and on 9/22 we welcomed 4 (two red/two black&tan) puppies from Bunny & Chase! We are crazy busy with these babies but enjoying them greatly!
We were contacted not long ago by a representative at the American Kennel Club asking for an online interview about Bloodhounds and our breeding program. At first we were unsure if we wanted to do it, wondering if we could do it justice but we are glad we did. It’s fun to now see it online. Enjoy!
AKC Breeder Spotlight: Molly and Michael Nye of M&M Bloodhounds
It’s been 2.5 years since our last litter and we have breeding plans for this summer. Stay tuned for more cute puppy pics coming ahead! 🙂
Grace is truly a saint when dealing with puppy Sterling. She is most patient and happy to play with her. Here’s a fun shot from our play time outside!
