Summit Search & Rescue, out of New Cumberland, PA, averages over 65 call outs per year. They are very active in their community public education, averaging over 100 programs per year. Detective K9 Briggs was added to their team in 2013. Very quickly, due to diligent training and handling skill, showed by eleven months old she was search ready and was utilized shortly thereafter with a find of a man in his 80’s that was missing all day.
Detective K9 Briggs continues her career excelling in the locating of missing persons and in criminal investigation. She has worked with state, county and local police along with the US Marshal and Secret Service agencies and the FBI. Several credible finds are attributed to her diligence including arson and armed robbery suspects. As an extension to her service as a search K9 she provides much needed animal assisted therapy and animal assisted intervention – making a difference in every way she can.
